Xing Yi Quan
at East West Therapies

Xing Yi Quan (Form & mind boxing), starting from a standing posture called San Ti, with the body weight mainly resting on the back leg. A Xing yi quan fighter uses efficient coordinated movements to generate bursts of power intended to overwhelm the opponent, simultaneously attacking and defending.

This style uses five hand techniques corresponding to Chinese
theory of the Five Elements or Five Phases, Splitting Fist
(Pi Quan), Crushing Fist (Beng Quan), Drilling Fist
(Zuan Quan), Pounding Fist (Pao Quan) and Crossing Fist
(H Quan).

Xing yi quan includes twelve animal imitation boxing forms, such as Chicken, Snake, Crocodile, Hawk, Tiger, Horse, Swallow, Tai bird, Dragon, Monkey, Bear and Eagle

There are many styles of internal martial arts, but xing yi quan is one of the three major ancient Chinese boxing arts, the other two being Taiji quan and Ba gua Zhang.
